AIS MOB beacon rescueME MOB2 with DSC

Description

The rescueME MOB2 is a Class M compliant AIS MOB beacon with an integrated DSC transmitter and receiver for automatic lifejackets. When the lifejacket inflates, the MOB2 activates itself and sends the first alert after 15 seconds: the exact GPS position appears on all AIS-compatible chartplotters within VHF range, and at the same time it triggers a DSC alert on the radio previously programmed into the MOB2. A white and infrared LED strobe light keeps the person in the water visible at night as well.

Application

For crews who want to alert their own vessel and all AIS-equipped vessels nearby immediately in a man overboard situation – the MOB2 fits most automatic lifejackets, including very compact ones.

Selection guide

Check in advance whether the lifejacket is suitable for fitting and follow the lifejacket manufacturer's instructions. The chartplotter and VHF radio must be able to process AIS MOB and DSC alerts respectively – this applies especially to older units. The use of DSC is subject to the legislation of the country concerned.
