Varnish Vernis for optimum weather protection
Description
Vernis is an easy-to-apply, economical varnish covering around 20 m² per litre. The binder is based on linseed oil, tung oil and natural resins. For optimum weather protection the manufacturer recommends at least 4 coats of varnish, and up to 8 on boats.
Features
- Economical: approx. 20 m² per litre
- Substrate clean, dry and finely sanded, at least 12 °C
- First coat thinned 5 %, for spray application 5–10 %
- Natural bristle or natural hair brush, short-pile roller for large areas
- Surface dry after 6 h, recoatable after 24 h, fully cured after 7 days
- At least 4 coats, up to 8 on boats
- Gloss level adjustable with Gelomat
Application
For surfaces permanently exposed to the weather; on boats the varnish is built up with up to 8 coats.
Selection guide
Intermediate sanding with 180 grit improves the smoothness and adhesion of the coats.
