Racing folding propeller, 2-blade, for racing yachts
Description
The 2-blade Gori racing folding propeller was developed in the mid-1990s specifically for the Whitbread Round The World Race. Today it is the propeller of choice for almost all newer one-designs and the majority of IMOCA and Class40 boats in the Vendée Globe, Route du Rhum and Barcelona World Race. When folded it reduces drag under sail to a minimum; under power it delivers full thrust.
Features
- Developed for the Whitbread Round The World Race
- Used on one-designs as well as IMOCA and Class40 boats
- Minimal drag when folded
- Geared blades open and close synchronously
- Diameter and pitch specified in millimetres
- For shaft drive with ISO taper 1:10 or for sail-drive
- Right-hand and left-hand versions
Application
For racing and offshore yachts where every tenth of a knot counts under sail – with shaft drive or sail-drive.
Selection guide
The correct size depends on the boat and engine installation. Check direction of rotation (RH/LH) and drive type before ordering.
